Rice Price Rises! So What?
Monday, April 7, 2008 Labels: filipino, lifestyle, news, philippines, price, rice, wage 0 commentsAfter a recent report on lacking supply of rice in Philippines, rice sellers started to increase rice’s price in which poverty is much experienced. The said NFA rice (National Food Authority) was then put into public to let these less wage earner persons have enough amount of rice fitted on their income. As such, rice is known as the Filipino’s favorite food. Why? Filipinos cannot eat breakfast, lunch and dinner without it, so deal with us right now. Filipinos need rice. This really is a big deal for us and this matter can’t hit my smiles right. Rice is hitting our pockets deeply!!
Reports say that Philippines is ranked as the one of the large exporters in rice. But yet, Philippines gets a relatively high rice price. Experts put to account the continuous rise of expenses such as fertilizer and fuel as well and also the climate change and pests that destroy the product. Farmers pointed out that they aren’t benefiting from it. A farmer said that if this continues, his family will go hungry. They can’t afford it for sure if rice still rise. The rice prices hit 50 percent increase on world market in which it really is a big deal for the world.
So what if rice rises? Not only Philippines set rice as a fave food. Japan also loved rice, Vietnam, China, Thailand, US and other countries in which rice is greatly in need. There will be scar in every region of the world. Every country will have an insufficient supply that will cause its people to experience hunger. Let me answer it. If price increases, there will also be a relatively increase of hunger. Don’t you think?
